The councillor for Innovation and Knowledge Management , Roberto Jaramillo , has participated today in the award ceremony of these prizes which, in his words, demonstrate “the effort and dedication of the people and entities of Valencia who work and contribute transformative ideas to generate benefits for people”. “Best creative solution to social problems” award, which was finally won by Gonzalo Cañada with his monitoring system and early detection of traffic jams in sanitation networks. The two finalists in this modality have been a project promoted by Functional Sexuality , and another therapeutic theatre project promoted by Asperger València .

To the prize of the category “Best project of citizen participation” they have opted for 12 entities. The proposal of the association Mesura that involves the collaboration of different agents to control pollution and the environmental impact of polluting particles has been highlighted.

The finalists have been the Intramurs association by “artistic experimentation in the Mediterranean”, and the Possibilitats association , author of “Benimaclet with Fusion 2017”

“Best experience of Social Innovation in schools” the project social-educational transformation in El Cabanyal was the winner driven by Parish of Our Lady of the Angels. Our Lady of the Forsaken Parish of Nazareth, and the association of Mothers and Fathers of the Humanist Public School Mariner. have also been highlighted. “Best experience in responsible consumption” the idea “Massa per a la carabasa”, from the a neighborhood association of Campana has been selected. They have also participated Elastic Prose with the proposal “I buy here” and Setem Comunidad Valenciana with their proposal “Pam a Pam”.

Roberto Jaramillo highlighted that social innovation “is a fundamental axis of the policies of the Government of the Nau, which seeks new formulas to respond to the needs of people”. And with this objective, he has added, “we promote collaboration between public institutions, companies, universities and, of course, also civil society”.

The councillor has highlighted “that 57% of the projects presented address the social challenge of improving the quality of life of people in need”. As for the criteria taken into account by the jury, it highlighted: “the originality and degree of innovation of the projects, their viability, their collaborative nature, social impact and sustainability”.
